Some dogs simply need someone to give them the chance to show who they really are. Rex is one of those dogs.
At approximately 2 years old, Rex is a big, affectionate dog who loves people, enjoys being active, and is just as happy settling in close for a snuggle. He has been friendly with everyone he meets and has shown no reactivity during his time with us.
Rex isn't looking for just a place to live. We're looking for the family who will make him part of their life—at home, on walks, on adventures, and wherever the day takes them.​​

Rex is the kind of dog who wants to be part of your life—not just live alongside it.

At approximately 2 years old, Rex has a wonderful balance of energy and affection. He enjoys being active and would love a family who wants to include their dog in their adventures—whether that means going for walks, exploring new places, heading out for the day, or hitting the trails for a hike. But when the adventure is over, Rex is just as happy being close to his people. For all his size, he is very much a snuggler.

Rex genuinely enjoys people. He has been friendly with everyone he meets and has not shown reactivity during his time with us. He is a big, social dog who would thrive with a family that truly wants an 80-pound companion as part of the household—not a dog who simply lives in the backyard.

And yes, Rex is currently carrying a few extra pounds. After spending far too much of his earlier life without enough food, his foster family may have enjoyed feeding him a little too much. It is hard to blame them. Going forward, Rex would benefit from appropriate portions, regular exercise, and an active lifestyle to gradually bring him to a healthier weight.

Rex is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and in good health.
MORE THAN JUST ADOPTION
We want Rex's next home to be his forever home, so our responsibility doesn't end when someone decides to adopt him.
​
Before Rex leaves for his new home, he will receive professional training through The Dog Services to help prepare him for life with his new family. His adopters will also receive training so they understand what Rex has learned, how to communicate with him, and how to continue building on that foundation at home.
Our goal isn't simply to find someone willing to take Rex. We are looking for the people who will love having a big dog in the middle of their lives—in the house, on the couch, on the trail, on outings, and wherever life allows him to come along.

Rex has already experienced what it means to go without. Now we're looking for the family who can show him what it means to truly belong.
